Halogen's Days Are Numbered

Pushing LED brightness, color quality, and consistency to new levels in 2011, market leader Cree, Inc. introduced what was then the next step in eradicating energy-wasting halogen light sources. Cree's XLamp MT-G LEDs deliver new brightness levels, unparalleled color quality, and proven lighting-class reliability.

USAI Lighting was one of the first lighting manufacturers to introduce a product that fully puts the power of MT-G LEDs in the hands of lighting designers with USAI's award-winning NanoLED™ family. Marrying impressive optics with a small 2.5" aperture for LED sources, the cutting-edge NanoLED fixture further elevated the standards of solid state lighting technology (SSL). NanoLED provides designers with color quality, efficiency, flexibility and control via proprietary 10-, 25-, 35- and 50- degree optics to bridge striking aesthetics with functional application in a variety of interior installations.

“We have a relentless focus on providing only the best, and superior color quality is an essential part to ensuring our customers a high-performing lighting solution,” said Bonnie Littman, president of USAI Lighting. “Being able to offer our customers halogen-like color and brightness along with the energy-efficient benefits of LEDs is going to be a game-changer.”

Mike Watson, Cree senior director of marketing, added: “Cree MT-G LEDs were the flagship product to bring real freedom to lighting OEMs. Real freedom means simple EasyWhite 2-step McAdams ellipse ordering, with multiple color points. And Cree was the first in the industry to qualify LED components at operating temperature. Combine all that with commercially-available parts, and that’s the Cree advantage.”
